SATURDAY WORKSHOPS with HELEN DOWSE ~ 2026

7th FEBRUARY (2026): SCARLET MACAW PARROT (Acrylic Ink on Yupo Paper.)
Yup paper is a synthetic, recyclable, shiny paper, most commonly used for loose watercolour painting. We will use acrylic inks to capture the stunning colours of a Scarlet Macaw parrot in a loose style.
7th MARCH (2026): HIPPO HALF SUBMERGED IN WATER (Acrylic Inks.)
A shiny wet Hippo’s portrait, half submerged in water will give us the opportunity to practice painting wet skin and water techniques.
26th SEPTEMBER (2026): KINGFISHER (Acrylic Inks.)
A beautifully lit Kingfisher with a black background is the stunning subject of this workshop. We will capture the contrast between light and dark to bring the subject to the fore.
17th OCTOBER (2026): A RED PANDA (Acrylic Inks.)
The soft fur of a red panda will be the subject of this workshop. We will learn techniques to build up fur layers to achieve the velvet like quality of this remarkable red panda.
The cost of each workshop is £60 inclusive of all materials and is suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike.
Each workshop is held between 10.00AM and 4.00PM
